AllType® Typeface Converter (ATC)
AllType specializes in the translation of scalable typefaces. Scalable typefaces, unlike their older bitmapped counterparts, are flexible because they allow you to generate the exact point size you need, when you need it, from a single, small outline, rather than storing a large number of fixed-size bitmaps. With AllType anyone can convert thousands of fonts from one format to another. By making so many font combinations available, AllType makes it possible to get the most from any application that supports scalable fonts.
Nearly all the scalable type formats, including PostScript Type 1, Type 3 and Intellifont, are supported by AllType. Each format has its advantages and disadvantages. Some formats work with certain applications and printers, but not with others. AllType lets you sidestep these limitations, by allowing you to convert your typefaces into the format your hardware and software supports. If you have a favorite font from one application, you can convert it to work with several others. Conversely, if you have a number of fonts from different applications, you can convert them all for use in a single application.
AllType also gives you the ability to create new variations from an original typeface. By using AllTypes customization options, you can generate dozens of new condensed, expanded, hollowed, obliqued, and bolded variations from a single master typeface.
AllType costs US$149 for a single user license.
